I am a composer, educator, double bassist, and electric bassist from Albany, New York, currently living in Baltimore, Maryland. I studied with Kevin Puts while earning Masters Degrees in Composition and in Music Theory Pedagogy at The Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University. I prefer to emphasize skill-building and retention, and always want to make sure the student is enjoying the process. I prefer to set realistic short- and long-term goals for students at each lesson, and acknowledge their accomplishments with a system of rewards. Additionally, at the end of each year, I encourage my students' participation in a studio-wide voluntary recital, which is intended to showcase their growth and development over the course of the year as well as afford them an opportunity to perform in public. For my older beginning piano students (13/14 and up), I apply the Alfred Adult Piano Method to ensure the material meets the student at his/her academic level. As for all woodwind students, I apply the Reubank Methody (Beginning, Intermediate, Advance), alongside Hal Leonard's Essential Elements for students currently in a school band. The guitar technique I teach is mostly finger style, which is suitable of a wide variety of solo guitar music, including Pop, Jazz, Rock, and especially Classical.
