Teaching has been part of my life for over 17 years and I hope to continue for at least that many more. My teaching experience dates back approximately five years, and I've taught to students as young as 8 to as old as 20. With all of my students, I tailor my lesson plans to their specific needs. I like to find out why my students want to play guitar, what they want to play, and foster their continuing growth by teaching them what they want to learn. For beginning students (adult and children) I like to be sure that their knowledge about fundamentals is solid. I believe ear training is paramount. Not everyone can sing, but secure pitch discrimination can help all musicians (even percussionists). I encourage all students to participate in ensembles (band, choral also).
