My music teaching experience begins with brass, both teaching private trumpet lessons, and assisting with various youth ensembles including the MusicAlliance Honor Band and several high school marching band ensembles. While I continue those engagements, my primary passion lies in directing choir, both youth and adult, as well teaching private voice lessons as I myself continue to study both areas. I teach Clarinet while incorporating the voice. Singing one's solo or exercise is a method for teaching intonation on the Clarinet. I also use a system of putting certain vowels to the different ranges of the Clarinet (i.e.- one should think "O" when playing in the Clarion register because thinking that vowel will naturally open one's throat).
