I typically use the Suzuki method violin books, but I can also work with Strictly Strings and Essential Elements. Depending on the natural strengths of the student, we may start with music fundamentals or jump right into violin setup and technique. I typically pair the books with exercises of my own invention meant to isolate the technique at hand for that lesson. We will integrate reading the music with the physical connection on the instrument. Read More

From ~1998 to 2009 I studied under Jason Beaudreau starting at Jackson Music on Grand Island, NY and ending at the Guitar Woodshed in Niagara Falls, NY. In 2006 I began my academic life at Niagara County Community College in Sanborn, NY. During that time I had "worked my way up", so to speak, to teaching at the Guitar Woodshed under Jason until I moved to New Paltz, NY in the fall of 2009. Read More

For Every student I start the same. It all starts with technique. If you have a great technique you can play anything with practice! with my much experienced students I don't go too forward with technique but try to find their weakness in their technique to strengthen it. For the Beginners, after the technique we go into what to play. with my adult or more experienced musicians I find out what they are interested in then go from there. Read More

I have been playing the trumpet for over 20 years and enjoy spreading my love of music. I graduated from SUNY Fredonia in 2007 with a degree in Music Education and from Western Michigan University in 2009 with a Master's of Music in Trumpet Performance. After graduation from WMU, I taught in various school districts around New York as a substitute teacher and music teacher. I have performed with various orchestras such as the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Western New York Chamber Orchestra. Read More

To reiterate, nothing is more rewarding than to see one of my students naturally develop with the tools they already have. I encourage musical exploration and to see my students retain the fundamentals and advanced technique I teach in my lessons. Every student is different, with different comforts, and different predilections. I believe in strengthening what is lacking, or better yet, holding a student back from being the musician they dream to be. Read More

I structure my lessons to fit the needs of the individual student. Lessons will encompass a variety of activities to help the student improve in technique, sound production, and all aspects of reading music. Read More
