I began teaching music while I was in college. Although I was not an education major, I did take education classes and learned a lot about pedagogy during my time in college. I have experience teaching beginning percussion-intermediate percussion on mallet instruments, snare drum, timpani, drum set, and orchestral percussion. I had a class of about 10 or 15 kids and we worked on solfege, theory, and singing. During that time I was also teaching drums in the same school and privately in my house in Normandy, France. Modern middle and high schoolers can be very busy and it is not productive to give them too much than they can handle. I then picked up Bass guitar and performed alongside the Pep band and the Jazz band and continued my practice with both all the way through college.
