Although I have not had any official students, I have taught a handful of my fellow peers throughout my years as a trumpet player. I gladly did and discovered my love and passion for teaching. I taught consistently from 2003-2005 in Gilroy, until I attended Fresno Pacific University. I like to give my students a range of music they can choose from something that they would like to play, something that would make them want to practice because they are interested in learning It. All my students will have homework. They have till the next time I see them which is usually a weeks time period. I began my teaching experience in 2006 as a Teaching Assistant in the USC Trojan Marching Band. It gave me the opportunity to craft a unique private lesson mentorship curriculum for all students who join the trombone section. I spent many years motivating young musicians to push their limits of musicianship and leadership. I really love to see my students get a concept, experience results and pass it on to others. I am fairly new to teaching, but have taught 1-4 grade general music, 5-6 grade choir, and am currently a high school choir director. I have performed in many choral settings including professional choirs with full orchestras. I have made debuts in operas. I have also directed and assisted choirs in the learning process and in performance. To create a healthy vocal sound, I encourage vocalizing everyday for at least 30 minutes. Read More

I really find it important that a student moves at their on pace. This is encouraged by setting feasible goals for each student and to make sure that they are able to progress with no frustration. I also acknowledge a students accomplishes that way they are likely to feels confident and motivated for further progression. Each student is different and I try to cater to each individual's learning style. For little ones and young musicians, I use a game board with all kinds of fun music activities and tasks to land on and play. I'm a fan of the Alfred instructional book series especially for beginners. Depending on what each student would like to achieve, I like to plan out a timeline to stay on track. Read More
