For the beginning, students will start developing the technique of sound with simple exercises and tunes during which we will explore the basic music concepts: pitch, intervals, rhythm, dynamic expression, music notation and reading. After that process, we will start studying the chords and scales relationships, applied on the instrument, to develop a comprehension of the tonal-modal system. I began teaching in college and focused on motivating younger players to continue to exploring the instrument. I noticed early on that so many young students would stop showing up to lesson after just a few weeks. My goal has always been to expose every student to the potential their instrument has. After receiving Bachelor Degrees from two outstanding Chinese Music Colleges and Universities, I performed as a primary singer for a leading Chinese performance orchestra for nearly 15 years. I also won major national and regional singing competitions throughout China, including First Place in the most important national competition.
