This tends to be a combination of songs they know and love, and songs that I introduce them to. I introduce the elements of music theory in relation to songs. Scales, harmony, and ear training are grasped better, and enjoyed more, once a student has context. I graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2019 studying flute under Dr. Shelley Binder. There, I double majored in Flute Performance and Musicology. I also minored in Music Business, and Entomology and Plant Pathology. I am a Presser Scholar and was a member of the UT Chancellor’s Honors Program and a Student Ambassador for the University of Tennessee School of Music.
