I have experience teaching all ages and levels. I have taught since I was a teenager and have taken piano pedagogy classes at the Manhattan School of Music. I have also attended the World Piano Pedagogy Conference. Im a member of the Music Teachers National Association and Piano Technicians Guild. I have years of performing and teaching. I was a child prodigy, able to play piano when I was 5 years. I began formal lessons when I was ten, and quickly progressed. I gave numerous recitals as a student. I received music scholarships to high school and college. I have had a lot of teaching experience in public and private schools. I am always well prepared, and patient with my students. Nothing is more important than the student enjoying themselves. I want to encourage my students' passion for music by allowing them to learn at their own pace. I believe in encouragement and positive reinforcement, I will never discourage a student to study music. Music is for everyone and should never be considered out of reach for anyone. We will explore the music that the student is passionate about and I will help them learn it so that they can perform the piece to the top of their ability. Read More

I tailor each lesson to the student’s needs and desires. I encourage all of them to develop reading, listening, coordination, and concentrating skills. I help each student to have the ability to play many different music styles and improvise in those styles. We work with developing the ear in order to play along with recorded music and teach them how to transcribe the songs so that they can document it for future use. Read More

For beginning students, we initially tackle the fundamentals of music and drumming. This includes how to properly hold the sticks, basic reading skills, music terminology, rudiments, and stickings. I also teach one or two drumset beats in the first lesson to show the student that playing drums is for everyone. After the student begins to understand the fundamentals, I structure a tailored lesson plan that addresses their areas of interest. Read More

I started teaching In the mid 80's when I was attending Berklee College of Music in Boston. I've been Consistently teaching since then. In 1994 I moved to NYC and had to start all over as I had to give up my Boston students. After a few months I built up a large student roster that lasted 10 years. in 2004 I relocated to the NJ suburbs, & while a number of nyc students would commute to my new location I built up my teaching practice that eventually led to a number of student ensambles & shows that would sell out The Bitter End in NYC!
