I take the student at his/her own pace. I try to be sensitive to the needs of the student not just his/her musical needs but his/her academic needs as my ability to continue working with the student depends upon his/her academic success. I will suggest a basic routine at home: Housework, Practice, Study, Leisure, Bedtime. Both for Practice and Study I recommend organizing subject matter in order of least favorite to favorite which gets the least favorite out of the way and saves the best for last. Read More

Depending on my analysis of a, diagnostic, first lesson, I would assign a method book that is appropriate to the students needs. I have worked with many different method books, but the Essential Elements books are valuable because of the audio CD that is included with the books. I have been playing saxophone for more than 20 years. I was awarded multiple scholarships at South Plains College to play in their Symphonic and Jazz Bands. I have many years of experience playing at in my church choir as well. As a result of which I have played professionally at numerous weddings and other similar events.
