I'm an enthusiastic music instructor based in Los Angeles, CA who loves sharing my love and passion for music with students. My principle instrument is the flute which I have been playing for over 17 years. I use the Suzuki method with all students, however, supplemental material is also used as the student ages and moves through the repertoire. As the student begins to explore their instrument and experiment with different styles, techniques, and repertoire I help guide the student along their musical journey and teach the student the necessary skills to successfully perform/play the piece. Its a great jumping off point to work on finger placement, rhythm and picking; all the while we get to learn a song, too! My intermediate students have focus heavily on musicianship. With these types of students I often play (or jam) with them during lessons. This gives them the chance to start really listening and to use their skills to function as a musician. I find students who miss out on this can often play lots of songs but sometimes are missing solid rhythm and finger placement work. Read More
