In addition to private studio teaching, both in-person and remote for 6 years, my teaching experience comes from being as an Adjunct Faculty in violin and viola for non-music majors at New York University, the orchestral viola coach at Mannes Prep Precollege Division, director of Chamber Music and violin/viola faculty at Thurnauer School of Music. For beginning students, I like to teach simple and fun tunes that get them excited. I focus on single-note licks/melodies, and will gradually add open-chord progressions and songs to the curriculum. It's best to practice everyday even for 5-10 minutes, rather than every other day or few days for a longer period in my opinion. Once they start improving, I'll gradually teach more challenging songs that'll keep them engaged, but not overwhelmed. Read More

My teaching style is focussed very much on what the student wishes to learn. Having a set guide pf progression is necessary but not when forced upon. My style involves exploring music together, understanding the thought process behind different pieces of music and applying concepts in fun innovative ways. I have also designed many musical games that are fun and help students remember things better. With every student I put together a custom lesson plan that is designed to show yardsticks and milestones for the student in how they are moving forward with their instrument. Read More

I follow the type of music they are interested in and I also suggest other genres. Students who pursue Musical Theatre are encouraged to get their own books with audio accompaniments. I am always willing to suggest fitting songs to all of my students based on their level, range, style and personality. With Adults singers I have a flexible curriculum based on their musical background/interest and goals. I offer vocal technique for contemporary commercial music, also musicianship (rhtyhm and ear training) and incorporate style into their songs. Read More

I began teaching guitar lessons at the early age of 17, and have continued to make private instruction a mainstay of my professional career ever since. Because of the nature of the bass in musical settings, my approach to teaching is one I consider "wholistic". That means that in conjunction with developing fundamental technique and building repertoire etc., lessons will involve listening to songs and discusing elements such as groove and instrumental tone. I believe that the study of music should be fun. Because of this, I like to get a feel of what music my students enjoy no matter the age or skill level, that way I can custom fit the material of an individual's lesson to get the best results.
