I am a cellist currently living in NYC, and have am experienced in performing, recording, and teaching experience. I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2014, where I received my Bachelor's degree in cello performance. There, I studied classical, rock, folk, and improvisation on the cello. I've had the opportunity to play in Boston's Symphony Hall, as well as many other venues in the city. In 2014, I recorded cello for the Documentary Watchers of the Sky, premeired in the Sundance Film Festival, and from July to October, I performed with the Anna Myer Dance Company in New York City and Boston.    From January- March 2016, I was the cello teacher for the Enriching Lives Through Music program in San Rafael, California. I'm a pianist, accordionist, arranger, and composer. I find a lot of joy in learning and understanding music. The styles I specialize in on piano are ragtime and early jazz, and Latin and French music on the accordion. Although this is my specialty, it certainly isn't the limits of what I am able to teach. I perform as the accordionist for a Manouche Jazz band named Heliotrope Swing, we play around Boston and really thrive on the joy that people find in our music. Read More

My lessons are organized around a few core elements: fundamentals, technique, note-reading, and repertoire. For all students, grasping the fundamentals of pitch and rhythm is essential, so exercises that continually reinforce these fundamental skills are a typical first order of business for each weekly lesson. Simultaneously, I guide the student through proper posture, form, breathing, and mental preparation. My experience stems from real-life application of what I have learned in my many years of trumpet playing. Having learned from the philosophies of many of the great brass pedagogues of our time, I am knowledgeable about how to most efficiently play the trumpet well. I am knowledgeable in the techniques of Cichowicz, Schlossberg, and Jacobs and apply these different philosophies of brass playing to each of my students. It depends on the age of the student, but there are plenty of method books and pieces that can both teach a student music theory and notation, as well as their performance skill. With beginners its perfect to start with the Rubank series from Beginner-Intermediate. Many students are given the "Standard of Excellence" series by their school teacher and that series works as well. I believe these books are a great start, but can get old fast. Read More
