They now are easier to play on and have better rebound like a real drumhead on a snare for instance. There is also a company named Promark which makes Tubz which are plastic tubes that can be played on any surface. For beginning students, I will introduce basic guitar and musical terminology and focus and proper form of playing. Once certain fundamentals have been established I will begin to introduce a repertoire based on the student's interests and skill level. Depending on the age of the student I will start them on Berklee's Guitar Method I if they are old enough.
