Ive been playing Clarinet for 12 years, and in that time Ive been teaching for 6 years. In Florida I attended University of North Florida where I had the opportunity to perform virtuosic concertos with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, Ocala Symphony Orchestra, and the University of North Florida Orchestra and Band. For beginner students I usually start with teaching the fundamentals of how to hold the cello and bow and how to make a sound, using Pizzicato and bow movement. I then introduce the Suzuki volume 1-4 books and make sure that the student learns a piece that will help him or her improve the most but at the same time will ensure an enjoyable and successful learning experience. I make sure that each student has a goal set in mind so that we can mold each lesson to further that goal. I like to start off teaching how to read very simple snare drum and drum set music. Basic snare drum rudiments like Flams and Paradiddles and basic rock beat drum patterns are a fun and engaging way to start learning. I use books as well as transcribe music myself to provide my students with a visual representation. I began teaching in 2013 during my studies in singing. I prepared my students for auditions and entrance examinations at performing schools and music universities. I can teach opera, musical theatre and pop as well as songwriting and music theory. Besides finding the voice, I also do personal development coaching and confidence training.
