In the beginning stages the curriculum is designed primarily based around the music theory required for playing the instrument at a high level. I first start off with hand posture: simply learning to hold the sticks correctly eludes even some adults. no matter how far a student has advanced, I always watch their hands. a good hand posture will help the students' sound, as well as help prevent injury. As a drummer that has played in all kinds of styles and venues, I can teach any skill level from the first time picking up sticks to making good drummers great and great drummers legendary.
