I have developed for seven years as one of the most atractive professors for the System of Youth Orchestras of Venezuela (El Sistema) and the Simon Bolivar Conservatory. It aimed to develop the artistic and intellectual capacity of children and young people through the music academy. Some of my students are now part of the most important orchestras in the country such as Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, Teresa Carreño Symphony Orchestra, Youth Orchestra of Caracas and some others have already won scholarships to study abroad. While I have a general curriculum, I am very flexible and try to adjust to my every student individually. Generally I like to employ books by Suzuki, as I find them very methodical, as well as easily accessible. I supplement the Suzuki books by Alwin Schroeder's 170 foundation studies, and lots of scales and technical exercises. I encourage active listening and work with a student to build confidence performing. I use the John Schaum piano method course and theory and harmony lessons and supplement it with other music which the student may choose. The theory lessons provide a means to drill on the essentials by means of a work-book style in optional detached pages so that the teacher can take the papers and correct them before the next lesson. I graduated with my degree in music education from Westminster College in 2010. I taught grades K-8, choir and instrumental students in Pittsburgh Public Schools until 2021.
