For beginners of any age, I begin by discussing goals, milestones, and how we will achieve them. I do use method books, but only recommend those that will be useful in and out of lessons. I keep lessons fun and engaging, and always demonstrate before expecting the student to do the same. Fundamentals as building blocks are always needed, but I never keep a learning plan the same from student to student- goals (that can always be changed) are what I use to guide a student to be confident for any performance. I am from a traditional classical singing background. I use vocal exercises to not only strenghen the voice but to build a strong singing foundation. Hopefully, by the end of the lessons there will be no need for a microphone. For young singers we will focus on classic tradional basic song literature as well as have fun with popular music. Adults can bet that I will help them fine tune and build a sound and secure vocal technique for what ever repertoire they are needing guidance on. Read More
