I studied piano performance with Robert Smith and violin performance with Percy Kalt at BYU; I have also studied with Jeffrey Shumway, former Head of Keyboard Studies, BYU and Carroll Meyer, Boise State University. A few years ago, I taught the piano for approximately three years. I stopped teaching for a while in order to pursue my Bachelor's Degree - beginning at Dixie State University, and I am now working to build my clientele again. I absolutely love to teach. One of my favorite moments with every students happens at around the 4th or 5th lesson, when the student then feels comfortable enough to begin to discuss with me some of their goals with the piano. For beginning students who are ages 8-13 will first use the Standard of Excellence red book and then they will transfer to the blue book. Intermediate and Advance will use the Foundations for superior performance book. We will start to pick solos that they are able to play and work on them. I began my formal education at Cornish School of Allied Arts in Seattle as Classical Cello major, moved to their Jazz Department as a Bassist and then to the University of Washington to complete my degree in Music Education.
