Music is definitely my passion, and I love taking any opportunities I get to help spread my love for music to others. So far, I have two degrees in music: my Bachelor's from the University of Indianapolis in Percussion Performance (with concentrations in composition and recording) and my Master's from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music in composition. I like to create very clear imagery that builds over time. The voice is not something we can see or touch, so I often joke that singing is about learning Jedi mind tricks that help us achieve a healthy technique. I like to incorporate theory/musicianship and some piano into my lessons to create a well rounded understanding of singing as a musician. My love for teaching started around my sophomore year of high school. I used to be in marching band and I would always offer to help the people in my section with the music and find easier ways to play certain passages. Music has always been a joy in my life and I want to help students find that joy for themselves.
