In 1998, I began teaching saxophone lessons in Houston, TX. I have taught saxophone lessons in the Dallas-Fort Worth area since 2008. My students were in middle school, high school, college. and adults. In addition, I have taught students who wanted to start a new hobby or were interested in returning to an instrument that they played in the past. In 2011, I began studying with Joe Eckert at TCU. For my piano students, I like to use a mixture of books from the Alfred, Bastien, and John W. Schaum collections. I eventually assign more advanced solo repertoire as the student progresses. For my vocal students, I pick music based on their interests and vocal qualities. I have taught my students musical theater, opera, art song, gospel, pop, and many other styles throughout the years. I also like to make sure my students have a solid understanding in music theory and often give out worksheets that help them practice how to sight read, recognize different key signatures, and more.
