For any level I like to check to see if they have a solid enough grasp on fundamentals. For drum kit users I like to only have the kick drum, snare and hi-hat available. If its a more experienced player, I like to have them play a simple groove just to see where they are and tailor how I teach them to most benefit where they would like to go in their journey. I graduated from California State Univeristy, Fullerton in 2012 with a Bachlor of Music in Violin Performance and graduated from Orange County School of the Arts in 2007 in Violin Performance. My teaching style is very Freddie Gruber, if you don't know who that is I recommend you look him up on youtube! I believe in motion. In understanding the motions your body has to make and repeating them like an athlete to get the same sound on the drum every time you hit a drum. For stringed instruments, I uses the Suzuki method for teaching the basic repertory of the instruments. This method is an ear training method in which the student plays by ear. It starts out very simple so students of all ages can learn and progress very quickly. For learning to read music I use one of the method books like "A Tune a day" or Strictly Strings which teach the fundamentals of read music and music theory. Read More

As a guitar teacher, I have always tried to help my students achieve these important goals with detailed and careful planning. Read More

I like my students to build skills that musicians possess and in order to do this I incorporate a lot my own creativity into my teaching. I base most of my teaching on Hal Leonard's Guitar Method, and I combine this with technical exercises I create according to the need of each student. My lessons are focused on gaining an understanding on how to be functional in guitar playing while also enjoying it. Read More
