Instruments: Drums Conga Djembe
For experienced drummers, I've worked with many different styles, soloing and transcriptions; from modern electronic music or metal to jazz or marching band books, every student will have a specific method depending on their own interest. Besides that, all my lessons involved a short part of my studies about Qi-Gong (Chinese Martial art discipline) helping us warm-up and heal possible problems related to overplaying, stress, bad posture, etc. Leading us to be able to meditate while playing. Instruments: Piano Accordion Keyboard
I try to be as flexible as possible, many things would depend on the student's age and background. I pay a lot of attention to movement when playing the instrument, I try to do this from the lesson one with an absolute beginner. I consider knowing music theory to be important but secondary, so I try to familiarise my students (especially children) with the instrument from the very beginning keeping the amount of theoretical information minimal. Instruments: Piano Saxophone Flute Clarinet
I would best describe my teaching style as "Learn how to have fun playing music, simply." I am thankful for being blessed with an ability to hear how my student plays and quickly and accurately prescribe a simple fix to get over hurdles. Sometimes all it takes is looking at things a different way to realize something and clear up confusion. Just like in life, sometimes with music all it takes is your teacher saying something a different way or helping you look at the music from a different angle. Read More
Instruments: Bass Guitar Double Bass
Lessons are very relaxed and we will focus on ways to practice and getting the student to learn what he/she wants. Some people just want to come and learn a few tunes, some want to really learn the instrument and practice all the time. It all depends on the individual and I`m more than ready to adapt for each one of my students with the methods I have. Read More
Instruments: Drums Bass Guitar
For beginning students I begin by talking to them about music and what songs they like. We start clapping along and picking out what the drums are doing and eventually begin playing along. A wonderfully laid out book for beginners that are interested in pop music is "The Funky Primer." I also like to teach the reading of rhythms out of a book by Ted Reed called "Syncopation for the Modern Drummer." This is a great book that you can work out of for many many years to come. Read More
