I have performed with orchestral, Church, Jazz, Band and Chamber Music ensembles in Cleveland Ohio and Detroit,MI. I studied at the Cleveland Institute of Music with Linda Muhlert(Frumker). I also had some lessons with Myron Bloom of the Cleveland Orchestra. In the Southfield Symphony Orchestra, I performed next to Bryan Kennedy of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra as 2nd horn on the Maurice Ravel Mother Goose Suite. I have several different books for Saxophone Students that feature technique, solo repertoire and duets. Progressive Steps to Syncopation by Ted Reed, Stick Control for the Snare Drummer by George Lawrence, and Advanced Techniques for the Modern Drummer by Jim Chapin. I like to teach fundamentals first, providing a strong basis with which to expand your repetoire. Then I like to emphasize song work. The best part of drumming in my opinion is playing with other instruments, and in addition to playing with recorded music, I encourage my students to find other musicians to practice and even perform with. I still do all of this today, having a collective 3 years of tour experience under my belt.
