My wife Carol and I formed the Pacific Brass Quintet (San Francisco, Ca.), the Grand Canyon Brass (Flagstaff Az.) The Harbinger Brass (Reno, Nv..). Currently Carol and I play in a Brass Dectet (4,1,4,1,). This allows me to focus on their unique abilities and interests while building a solid musical foundation. Individualized teaching is my passion. I adapt my teaching style to each students' learning style and then teach them how to express themselves individually through music. I've been playing flute for many many decades. I keep it fresh by continuing to learn more about music. It's an endless well of possibilities. I currently play with a jazz quartet. I've played flute since i was 9 years old and currently favor the alto flute, with its rich, lower tone. I play and teach both C flute (regular flute) and the alto flute. These groups I played with US Army Bands as a trumpet and horn player. These Bands included the following Army Bands: 191st, 116th, 484th, 312th, 159th, 59th, 84th, 300th, 104th, 451st, 389th, 6th, Ft. Ord, 133rd. My active duty performances included active duty 84th, 389th and the 33rd. As a Unit Commander and Officer in charge I directed the 40th ID Army Band in Los Angeles, CA., 70th Army Band in Seattle and 294th Arm Band in Vancouver, WA. Read More
