Every student has a different learning style and learns at their own pace. I myself am a tactile kinesthetic learner and tend to teach this way. For example, I enjoy using colored pencils to highlight articulation and dynamics. If a student is younger, I use stickers to help students keep track of where they are in the piece. I tailor my instruction to what each of my students needs and want to learn. Read More

I find commonalities in their likes and relate to what we are learning. I always want my lessons to be positive and productive. In order to insure success, I like to give my students music that they are excited about! I find this is the best way for the student to WANT to practice and get better. I love what I do and it gives me so much joy and fulfillment to see a student succeed and love music as much as I do! Read More

My thirty years piano teaching experience began in Eagle Pass , Texas when my own piano teacher encouraged me to begin teaching my own students. I actually began my teaching experience by helping out my piano teacher's students' with their piano practice. By that time I had performed in piano recitals , played in the National Guild of Piano Teacher Auditions, and attended piano workshops with my piano teacher. My parents' and my piano teacher's encouragement was what gave me the confidence and motivation to pursue my education in music studies. Read More

My teaching experience, on the individual and private level, goes back to my college days where I would tutor other students in piano to pass their keyboard barriers. While in the active duty military (I'm retired now), I provided private lessons to children and adults in my available time. It is important to remember that a student's individual practice time is invaluable; the lesson time is NOT supposed to be the first time to be reviewing an assigned piece! Read More

Ive been given many teaching tools from many different professors and have been teaching privately for around Ten years and in the public school system for around Three years. My teaching experience covers beginning players on violin, viola, cello, and piano to early advanced players on violin and piano. Read More

As I focus on the musical needs and interests of my students, I strive to create life-long musicians. My lessons are structured into activities that incorporate various aspects of music appreciation: Music theory, music history, music technology, performance practice, etc. (making such lessons comprehensive). Typically, we begin with a repertoire of warm-up exercises custom-tailored to your instrument but also for your current skill level and learning style (as created by me). Read More

I love teaching music! But, what's more, I throughly enjoy sharing the gift of music with my students. I believe that passion fuels action. If I want my students to be actively engaged in the learning process. I have to do my part as the teacher and involve the student in the music choosing process, before I can involve them in the music making process. If my students are clearly not passionate about the song that we are working on together in lessons. Read More
