Instruments: Piano
I have taught piano since the age of 14 under the guidance of my piano teacher, Mr. Maximillian Mendel. Mr. Mendel was my model for teaching piano as I use his method for teaching, and as such I have been teaching piano ever since at my home. Having developed Mr. Mendel's teaching method into my own teaching method. I believe in including the student's interests in questioning all aspects of their learning process. Read More

For beginning piano students, I enjoy the Faber Piano Adventures. As the student progresses, I guage what their interests/goals are, and choose repertoire according to their interests. For beginning oboe and woodwind students, I focus on a myriad of things that have nothing (and everything) to do with actual music: how to form a correct embouchure, correct hand and finger position, double and single reed care, instrument construction and maintenance, and finally, sound production. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 15 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the last 10 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. I've also found that a combination of classical and modern music can go a long way in helping students enjoy the piano and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. Read More

I began teaching guitar part-time about 6 years ago as a side job, on top of my then-main gig as a grocery store clerk. Slowly but surely, however, I added more and more students to my roster and was able to phase out the grocery store job, and today I teach guitar full time! There are three main components I look for in a student: passion, potential, and diligence. If a student has the passion for music, the potential to get better, and the diligence to put in the time and work, the sky is the limit! Read More

Music is beautiful and mysterious, mostly everyone enjoys listening to it.I believe that people who want to study about music and perform it are touched by it and drawn to want to express themselves through this form of art. That's why I get exited over and over again with every new student I get to help to understand music and learn how to make others enjoy while listening to him/her. Read More

You will also come up with new creative ideas that you can play on your instrument to spice up the instrument you are playing and the genre you are playing after I teach you. I believe that anyone can learn an instrument and even if you don't know how to read music or play songs, you can still be really good at your instrument and you can come up with new ideas on your instrument. For my beginning students, depending on their age, I typically start with a music book, such as John Thompson, Faber or Bastien. I also use a Schaum Note Speller which is a lot of fun and helps progress with music reading. I also love to supplement these books with single sheet music favorites of the student. It is important that my student enjoys each lesson and playing a piece they may be familiar with encourages them to practice. Read More
