As a performer, I was asked to play as principal flutist in my middle school wind band and was also admitted to Piano Major in the first two years of my Bachelor's Degree. I was one of the best pianists in my undergraduate school and switched to the composition and theory major to learn more knowledge (piano GPA was preferred to be high by most composition professors to accept this switching). Growing up with a music teacher for a mom, I began playing piano, learning music theory, and sight-reading at age 5. After years of studying piano, I expanded my musical journey by picking up the trombone, bass, guitar, and drums by the age of 12. I am a passionate instructor who loves to watch students grow and develop. The majority of my teaching experience has been in the realm of sports and physical education, however, I have a deep love for music and it brings me joy to share my gifts with others. Read More

My first conversation with students is what they would like to learn. This doesnt have to be specifically about one instrument, but what they would like to become as a musician. What music do the students enjoy? What inspires them? Who are their musical influences? I have taught students to have developmental issues. I have taught gifted students. The biggest teaching method I have is to be flexible because no two students learn alike. Read More

This calling demands love and imagination, where the teacher and the student are invited on an adventure where we both strive to leave each lesson asking ourselves how the next might be better and how to better engage ourselves in our unique goals. It is my mission to teach your child the language of music. It is my goal to teach with this single purpose: my students will be able to give voice to that which they cannot and for which they have no words. Read More
Instruments: Piano Violin Viola
For violin and viola lessons, I start my beginning students off with the violin/viola instrument hold as well as the bow hold. Once one has gotten the feel for holding the instrument as well as the bow, I teach the student the open strings of the instrument, followed by a one octave scale, with basic note reading exercises. After that, I begin the student on the Suzuki method. For piano students, I start by teaching beginning students three notes in treble clef (right hand) and bass clef (left hand). Read More
