My teaching experience goes back to after college days, as I began teaching private lessons two years ago, and have been consistently teaching in the classroom and at home for 4 years. I always encourage regular practice on a consistent basis because its the only way to progress and be great. I've found that helping students learn their interested genre makes them stay passionate about piano and motivate them to practice and learn more. Read More

I encourage my students to have notebooks, recorders, and to learn basic accompaniment via keyboard or guitar. This will help them to expand on their practices at home and feel empowered to create music on their own. I like to keep track of my students accomplishments and enjoy encouraging them along their musical journey. Each student comes with their own unique abilities, talents and training and I believe it is my duty to meet my students where they are at and gradually bring them towards where they desire to be and where I also see their greatest potential. There are two selected teaching methods that I confer with in order to select the most appropriate method for my students. For my beginning students, I select Schaum (Books 1-3) for piano lessons, and Benners Book One for theory lessons. The Schaum methods offers bright and color-coded books, which reflects that various learning levels. Once the students have attained the basic keyboard and theory fundamentals, the students will be given an assessment of their mastery, they will advance to the immediate level. Read More

I have an easy going personality and like to have fun so I try to make my lessons feel the same way. I'm not overly harsh or judgmental but instead I try to make each lesson a true learning experience where there's no pressure and the student is free to make mistakes (even encouraged to take risk and make mistakes) in pursuit of their passion of music. I believe when a student feels free to be themselves with their instrument it will result in a faster learning curve and more excitement to learn. Read More

Fun is the goal of each student because a student enjoying themselves will always want to practice and be successful. I try to incorporate as much learning in a light, fun filled environment as possible to keep the student interested. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for their gift/talent. Therefore, it’s important that each student develops at their own pace. We set realistic goals together and then I create a program based on those goals. Read More

I have always loved music. I began singing in church when I was only five years old. I began studying the piano when I was eight years old, and was privileged to become the church pianist at fourteen. As a lifelong student of music I have a lengthy music education, including studying the piano at the Birmingham Southern University Conservatory of Music. I have years of experience teaching piano and voice as well as teaching music in both private and public schools. Read More

I started teaching guitar lessons privately when I was 16 years old and, since I tested out of my first year of Music College in Argentina, I was able to receive my first music degree at age 19. Shortly thereafter, I started teaching elementary school music and symphonic band at a private school until I was offered a scholarship to be an exchange student in the U.S., and then offered two scholarships (Tiger Scholar and LMA) to transfer to LSU (Geaux Tigers!) to finish my studies there. Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
