I am now a Texas Retired Elementary School Teacher. I taught elementary for 27 years. During this time I have taught piano part time at a music store studio and currently at my own home studio. As skills in rudiments and basic patterns develop, I go on to materials such as Syncopation by Ted Reed (reading,coordination,technique), and Stick Control by George Lawrence Stone (technique).
