I am an educator and musician with many vast and varied experiences in the field, from performing as a drummer in popular music groups, to instructing students individually and in groups from the time I was 16 years old. 1980 - Present- Provide private piano lessons to children and adults; lessons include music theory as well as instrumental practice. Students participated and awarded on state and federal festivals and competitions. If a student isn't having fun in their lessons, then I'm not doing my job! My students are encouraged to enter competitions and recitals, as well as work on composing their own original material, so they can feel good about their accomplishments and stay motivated to learn. I've been teaching since 2006 at Baldwin - Wallace College, where I became an Adjunct Lecturer in Piano by the recommendation of the piano pedagogy faculty in 2007.  When in town, I've been teaching students primarily from ages 5-25, in traditional repertory and to help other older musicians hone specific skills.  I've taught students who have played in recitals, church services; including students who composed music that appeared in the Cannes International Film Festival, and students who wished to only play privately.  I pride myself in my strong technique which I credit to my background with the Cleveland Institute of Music, which is one of the biggest benefits that my students quickly take on.  I specialize in teaching classical music, and I also teach basic jazz and pop improvisation, to all ages. I highly emphasize Music Theory and Aural Skills; I believe that students should understand what they are playing. I started teaching when I was in high school. I was inspired by both my parents who are teachers and I learned a lot from them. I started growing my studio when I was in school, about 7 years ago, I was teaching at soundboard music in Stow, Ohio. My private studio kept growing so i decided to leave the music store and it has been growing since then.
