Due to my experience working with multiple grade/age levels, I have learned to carefully fine tune my teaching strategy for each individual student that I work with. At the beginner level I typically work from method books to ensure a solid development of performance fundamentals. I also like to spend a good bit of time establishing successful warm-up and practice routines. With intermediate level students I continue with more challenging method books as well as standard musical excerpts and etudes. Read More

My teaching style tends to adapt to the particular student. Nobody likes someone who comes on too strong or is completely set in their ways. I want to get to know you! I then try to bring my approach into the picture. I have a very engaging teaching style. I feel that getting constant feedback from the student is very important. The last thing I want is a confused student! Read More

Every student starts or resumes classes at different levels. My job is to recognize that level and proceed accordingly. I like my students to be able to learn and progress at the rate they can or want to. Letting students let you know what they want to learn and at what pace, helps the student as well as the teacher in that progress. I like to tell my students that they will not only be a good player, but know exactly what they are doing. Read More

In conjunction with this series,I will supplement with other pieces that I feel will inspire and challenge them. if the student requests a certain piece or style of piece they would like to work on, I definitely make sure to grant it to them. This only tells me that they are really having fun and is eager to learn more. Read More

My style is relaxed, making sure not to cause any stress from overpracticing or the worst--teaching in an intimidating tone. I put myself in the students shoes in order to understand what particular skills need to have more attention put towards them. I may seem difficult to tutor through video, so I have earbuds with a boom microphone to ensure I can hear you as clearly as possible and you can hear my voice as clearly also. Read More
