I still remember how we would sit on the couch and I'd try to name off the notes on my music flashcards as quickly as possible so no card would be put in the back of the pile for a redo! I also have taught grades 1 and 2 ABRSM piano exams in the United Kingdom, in which my students have a 100% pass rate, reaching the highest award of distinction in 3 out of 4 exams. I recently started using the Blocki method books to teach beginning flute. I have had success in using the Blocki pneumo pro to teach the diection of air flow for both the low and high register. I am also currently teaching th grade 5 ABRSM exam, which includes scales, arpeggios, sight reading, prepared pieces from 3 periods, sight singing, and aural skills. Read More
