Instruments: Piano
I decided early on to become a musician and pursued this goal through my education. I started piano at age 8 and continued with them for the next 15 years. I also studied trumpet from elementary school through high school. After finishing my studies I began teaching to supplement my income. It would go on to be a full time profession. I love to pass on my knowledge of the art to other generations in the way that my five teachers did for me. Read More

Whether you're a beginner, intermediate, or advanced, everyone needs a mentor to guide them in their art and with their gift. I think it's important for every student to progress at their own pace within their own level of comfortability. This helps the student develop empowering confidence in their own abilities. Every person manifests their voice through their body, so I approach singing in the same way a Yogi would approach Yoga. Read More

I intersperse these books with other more seasonal books and the student and I build on that. Read More
Instruments: Piano Drums Latin Percussion
I grew up in a household that flourished with multiple music genres which led me to really try and be versatile in regards to creating music. I first played the drums in middle school where I never read music, only played back what was told. By the time I got to High School, I knew it was necessary to be able to understand theory and by practicing throughout my years in High School, I was able to sustain a successful audition with the school's jazz band. Instruments: Piano Saxophone Flute Clarinet
I structure my lessons in the same way I structure my own personal practice. I usually start off with a few technical exercises, then cover some theory, and then work on repertoire. How much time goes in to each category will depend on the student. A beginner tends to need more time on technique, whereas someone who has an audition or recital coming up will spend most of their time on repertoire. Read More
