My method varies depending on the student. If the student wants a traditional musical approach, and is interested in learning notation and theory, then we will usually start with the Hal Leonard Book Series. If the student doesn’t want to learn notes or the more advanced musical concepts, I usually just start by teaching them simple songs that they know from the radio, TV Shows or movies. Something to get them really excited about learning and practicing, and songs that they recognize and can show others. Read More

I love seeing my students succeed! One of my favorite things about teaching is watching the students eyes light up when they achieve their current goal! To achieve this, I like to teach at the students own pace and with their chosen material. While it is very important to practice, I do not want to make music seem like a chore. By allowing the students to choose their own material, they are much more likely to self motivate! Read More

My teaching experience dates back to my college days. I have been teaching for over one year. I had one year intern in Westminster Conservatory and taught 7 students with varied ages. I also was an assistant of piano group class for one semester. Although I only teach for not a long time but I already have more than 20 students right now and i have very positive feedback. I really love teaching students piano because I hope they can find the magic of music world by learning piano from me. Read More

For beginning students who are children, I typically start with method books, and focus on teaching my students how to read notes and rhythms. With young students, I also prepare fun games and activities that will help them become acquainted with the keys on the piano. As the student progresses, I find and introduce new repertoire that is appropriate for their skill level. For teenagers and adults, I find out what the student is interested in learning and how I can best help them reach their goals! Read More

Music has been a big part of me for most of my life. I started playing piano at age 8 and saxophone at age 9. During hish school and college, I recieved many awards and recognitions for my playing. I recieved my Bachelors in 2014 and my Masters in 2015. During my musical studies, I have studied with many stellar musicians and teachers, and I strive to impart the same amount of excitement and energy to my students that these musicians imparted to me. My teaching experiance has been mainly one one one. I've never given group lessons mainly because you can't totally focus on the student when there are several people involved. The best teaching/learning situation is the individual lesson where the focus is on one person. All my lessons are with one individual. More than one creates distraction and breaks the contenuity of the learning experiance. My experiance has been with grade school students, College age, middle aged and also senior citizens. Read More
