My teaching methods are highly individualized and responsive to each students goals and learning style. I believe that effective teaching begins with understanding the person in front of mewhether theyre aiming to strengthen their technique, deepen their musicality, learn music theory, master the basics, or prepare for competitions. From there, we collaborate to create a personalized plan thats both motivating and structured. Im committed to meeting students where they are and guiding them toward their goals with patience and encouragement. Read More

Learning a musical instrument is very challenging and for most of us it doesn't come naturally. It's unfortunate when students become frustrated too quickly in the process and decide to quit out of frustration. In my style of teaching, it's very important that students feel some level of success no matter where they are in their own musical journey. Often I will perform lesson materials in unison along with students to help them if they are feeling anxious or uncomfortable. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson, while also gently pushing them to take their abilities to the next level when I see that they are ready to. In addition, acknowledging accomplishments help fuel students' desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. Read More

For beginning students who are children, I typically start with method books, and focus on teaching my students how to read notes and rhythms. With young students, I also prepare fun games and activities that will help them become acquainted with the keys on the piano. As the student progresses, I find and introduce new repertoire that is appropriate for their skill level. For teenagers and adults, I find out what the student is interested in learning and how I can best help them reach their goals! Read More

I expect the student to practice and learn for him or her self. I am there to facilitate. I am there to help. I am there to be the teacher and to encourage. I give each student the freedom to learn and prove to themselves just how wonderful they can be. I sit down with each student and parent, if the parent is coming with them, in the beginning and discuss with them the importance of practice and what it does to help with the learning process. I began teaching piano at the age of 16, and my first student was a girl aged 4. She was a potential student of my own piano teacher, but this teacher chose to assign this girl to me to teach before taking her on. I successfully taught her the basics of piano playing and in 2 years, when we presented our progress to my piano teacher, this girl was able to play 8-10 pieces, after which she was immediately accepted by my teacher.
