I typically start woodwind students with the Standard of Excellence Comprehensive Band Method series. I like to use the Faber Piano Adventures Series or the Alfred's Basic Adult Piano Course for piano instruction. In addition to the method book, I like to incorporate physical/breathing exercises, supplemental warm-ups, sight-reading, music theory worksheets, and student selected repertoire in lessons. I also encourage students to create their own compositions. In the past, I have digitally recorded many of my students' compositions and have really enjoyed encouraging students to express themselves through original composition. Read More

I started teaching from my home in 1976. I have been teaching at a studio near my home since 1999. I have taught from ages five to sixty-eight, from beginner to advanced. Some of my former students are now professional pianists. I took up the flute in 1985 in order to work with my husband, a classical guitarist, and we have been making beautiful music together. I have also been playing duets with myself bh means of my keyboard which has the ability to record and play back. Read More

My style is step by step. Where technique and repertoire mix. I try to pick pieces that are interesting for student. I also evaluate student abilities at the moment. I m trying to pick something that the student is ready for with something new to learn. And we progress further. I always show example from myself. So studemts sees it that its real and possible. And then i explain how i have done it. Read More

I structure my lessons in the same way I structure my own personal practice. I usually start off with a few technical exercises, then cover some theory, and then work on repertoire. How much time goes in to each category will depend on the student. A beginner tends to need more time on technique, whereas someone who has an audition or recital coming up will spend most of their time on repertoire. Read More
Instruments: Piano Drums Latin Percussion
One thing I strongly encourage is the student to go at his/her pace. There is no judgement on the capability of learning an instrument and because of that I completely understand how long (or how short) a student can learn the drums/piano etc. I try to make every student feel accomplished in a session especially when the material being taught is new and intimidating. But regardless, there will always be a sense of accomplishment because as long as the student feels as if they accomplished something(small or large) I will make it my duty to make sure they know it. My goal is to unleash the students' quest for beauty and creativity. I explain thoroughly the music that the student is working on and we practice together. For those who want to practice more at home, I provide clear guidelines. I have a special program for adult students who enjoy playing duet pieces together with me and works for two pianos.. With young students we are playing piano games, kids like it a lo, with adults students playing piano duets by classical , country music, Also music from Broadway musicals, and Jazz . Read More
Instruments: Piano Organ Keyboard
From there I introduce gradually more difficult pieces from the classical, romantic and modern repertoire. For adults and young adults I start with Alfred Adult Piano Basics and teach from the first and second method book. After that I proceed in a similar way as I do with the very young students. I try to understand each student’s personality and interest and make the lesson informative, inspiring and fun and add occasional popular and familiar popular pieces based on the desires of the student.
