I've been teaching music since I was in high school, starting with voice lessons. In college, many of my friends and friends of friends asked me to tutor them in voice, music theory, writing, and various instruments. Now, I have many private students that I meet with in person and over zoom and teach group classes as well. I think it's important that music students get to work on repertoire that excites them. It is important to observe the limits of human psychology by considering the stress factor. In this sense, I have quite a wide range.finger exercises and the topics discussed in the previous week are remembered at the beginning of the lesson. I have been a professional musician and music teacher for almost 20 years. In 2016, I graduated with a doctorate in saxophone performance from Texas Christian University. At TCU, I studied saxophone with Joe Eckert. He is a well-known jazz and classical saxophonist and was the lead alto and director of the "Airmen of Note," the premier jazz ensemble of the US Air Force, for 20 years. I have traveled as a performer for several years, and I have recorded multiple major label projects with various Latin music groups. Read More

I have been a professional teacher and musician for 30 years. As a young man I traveled all around the world on cruise ships playing shows. Then, I aggressively pursued a free-lance career as a jazz trumpeter in New York City. I have always taught private lessons and I enjoy the challenge of reaching the student to inspire them to improve. Hopefully it will be fun as well. I have a proven method for teaching beginning piano students and I have extensive experience teaching the trumpet as well. Read More

I generate an individualized course of study for each student. Beginning students typically begin with the Faber method, to make sure they develop a strong foundation for future study. As they progress, I begin to introduce age-appropriate repertoire. My more advanced students focus on musicianship technique as well as repertory. Depending on the goals for each student, I will work on jazz, classical, or contemporary styles. I also love working with students on concepts for improvisation and composition! Read More
