After a foundation has been established, I will introduce solo repertoire and begin to work toward recitals and local competitions. I'm a pssionate musician and music teacher. I enjoy sharing my passion with students. I spend much of my time composing and teaching. I graduated from Lewis and Clark College in 2012 with a major in English and a heavy emphasis on music. I have studied African drumming, electronic music, classical music and jazz. I help my students to first build a musical foundation. I motivate my students to practice consistently until they develop their own intrinsic motivation and aesthetic sensitivity to music. I allow them to bring in world music from other cultures or pop music and arrange and adapt it to their levels. My students regularly win the highest level of awards possible in State and local competitions, because I teach them how to tap into their innate music intelligence and to grow a love for it.
