For example, for the youngest students, I use the analogy of the seven colors of the rainbow to learn the music notes. Throughout my years of teaching using this technique, I've received a lot of positive feedback from the students that as learning kept them interested and excited about learning the instrument. I exercised patience and looked for even small improvements to praise with verbal encouragement and rewards for younger students. I broke down students' difficulties by incorporating various speeds, articulations, dotted rhythm practice, and minimum motion.
