I use a minimum of the Lesson and Theory book for my younger students with either the basic course or Accelerated course depending on their age and maturity. For beginning students who are children , I starts to prepare hand positions, also I invented the game ,like find the key , that is making process of reading the notes and find them on a key much easier and faster , also it’s good to exercise attention and multiple task. Once the students progressed to have a grasp of fundamentals I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance.For adults I’ll try to find out what the students is interested in , and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun.
