I began my teaching experience in the Bronx, where I created a music program in a very large public elementary school. As for vocal lessons, I'll figure out a student's vocal range and voice type, then ask them the kind of songs they want to sing, and why they want to sing them. If the student has vocal experience, I can help them expand their repertoire whether it be for theater auditions, choir tryouts, school group auditions, college prep, or just for fun! In order to communicate musical ideas most effectively, I feel it is equally as essential to develop the students ear as well as their reading abilities.Each student will receive a personally customized work packet that includes sheet music, worksheets, and possibly audio/video samples. From 2020 - present, every summer I have been teaching at the Hilton Head Jazz Camp. This jazz camp is a week-long intensive learning experience. Jazz musicians from all over the U.S. come to teach at the camp and help the students learn about jazz. In this camp I had the responsibility of teaching theory, improvisation, sight reading, and musicality with playing.
