My teaching style is two part. Many teachers approach each student with the same routine and technique, and don't really listen to the issues the student has or wants to discuss. I listen to students' thoughts and observations, and address their issues and concerns specifically; as well as coming in with my own plan for what can be improved and how to go about achieving the students' goals and what needs to occur for improvement in my professional opinion. I believe in getting the student interested in the concepts and styles themselves, i like to introduce them to different ways of playing and my main method is to show them how it can be exciting to play/learn. For eg, for someone who loves games, I would show them how to play chords and melody ( on a piano ) at the same time by using the Minecraft theme song as an example, or any game that they might know and enjoy so it gets them interested to want to play and learn, through that i will show them dfferent techniques and concepts, this way they are already enjoying what they are learning and at no point will not want to practice it on their own. For me, reading notes is essential, because it opens up the entire musical literature. So that is what I start with. Counting is equally important, so I start with that as soon as possible. I usually work with Bastien Technique. I like the way the book is organised. In addition I give pieces for them to learn, according to their difficulty. I always plat the pieces first to make sure the student will enjoy working on the piece. Read More

My teaching method is relatively simple, but is somewhat backwards from how most people teach music. I start with teaching the student a song, at his/her level, by listening to the record and by my example. After that I like to go back and give written out exercises and notes on what we did in the song. Often times a student will get a technical exercises and begin to get frustrated with it because they can't see why they're learning it. Read More

I began teaching voice in 1998, in Vienna, Austria. The following year, I was asked to teach at the Vocal Jazz Department of Gustav Mahler Conservatory where I taught for 5 years. During that time, my private teaching studio also grew, where I coached singers, songwriters and pianists. In 2004, I moved to Los Angeles, taught piano at a private music school, accompanied a Eurythmy class at The Waldorf School in Pasadena, and eventually built my own business as a piano teacher. < My teaching experience includes public school, private schools, homeschool groups, and individual studio instruction. Most recently, I am an undergraduate music instructor. I love performing but more that that I love to see my students embrace a lifelong love of music. I employ a variety of hands-on techniques that engage students and use incentives to help them achieve success. In a collaboration with parents, I seek to know the student and set up a positive reinforcement dynamic. Read More

My teaching experience dates back to my days of study, as I began teaching private lessons part time 12 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the last 10 years as well as doing workshops in different countries. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the singing or instrument.
