My teaching experience began in high school, as I began teaching children in a group setting. I worked at a children's educational summer camp where I instructed choirs and chorus singers for Musical Theater. During my time at OCU, I taught private voice lessons to students with diverse vocal goals. I have found that the best way to teach singing is to let your students sing! For three summers in a row, I attended a summer program for opera in New Mexico. At LEOI, I got to work with coaches and instructors of excellent caliber and reputation in the opera world. I have also sung at Carnegie Hall with the University of Tulsa Capella Chamber Singers in which I was the soprano section leader for the year. I welcome students of all ages from five years and up. My teaching experience began over 20 years ago when I taught voice lessons to several of the choir students at Choctaw High School. I am passionate about music and about helping find the unique approach for each student. Music Theory is the language of music and I focus a portion of each lesson learning that language. I think it is important to incorporate both classical repertoire and music that is of specific interest to the student. Read More
