While I have recommend materials to varying levels of students, every lesson approach is different. With all my students, I believe keeping them engaged and excited at what they are doing is most important. In the classical sphere, majority of my performances consisted of Sax Quartet and Avant Garde. I even had the pleasure of performing genres that were totally unfamiliar such as Afro Beat and even Bollywood Pop. Currently, I am laying foundation in my new residence of Tampa Bay. Once these become ingrained in the student's mind, I will introduce various excerpts based on their skill level, eventually working our way into solo repertoire. For students that have a few years under their belt, I prefer to get a grasp on what their strength and weaknesses are to assess what I can be of service, to select the solo or excerpt book that would best help improve their already developing talents.
