I am a fairly new teacher but since completing my degree in May of 2015 I have already began to build a private studio as well as teach at a few local music schools. I believe that in order to truly understand an instrument, practice must take place nearly everyday. In lessons, I teach students how to practice by creating short goals that add up to long-term progress. For younger students, I find it helpful to treat these goals as games in order to make practicing feel fun as opposed to feeling like work. Read More

My teaching experience goes back to my undergraduate days, where I had plenty of field teaching opportunities as well as student teaching. My clarinet professor gave me opportunities to help out with teaching the Woodwind Methods classes at USM for more pedagogical experience. In grad school, I taught make-up lessons to undergraduate students, coached chamber ensembles, and taught lessons to non-majors. I'm a recent graduate from Moravian College, class of 2019 with a degree in Music. I've spend years performing in local bands before starting my degree. In college, I was the lead alto saxophone in the BIG BAND as well as Wind Ensemble. I've had experience playing around the work, participating in the Karel Velebný Summer Jazz Workshop in Frýdlant, Czech Republic. I graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in French and Music, focusing on flute performance. I am currently enrolled in the Master of Music in Music Education program at William Paterson University and am projected to receive my degree in May. In 2009, I moved to the east coast to continue my education at William Paterson University. Over the years, my teachers have been instrumental in my success, and I strive to pass the lessons I received from them on to my own students.
