My parents are both teachers so I come from a background of educators. I have been teaching for the last 3 years as I was completing my degree at CU Boulder. Even though I am a jazz trombonist, I focus on finding music that students like, not that I personally want to play. I am a passionate musician, educator, conductor, and composer, and I have been happily obsessed with music since I began piano lessons at age 10. I joined the school band program in 6th grade, and since then, I have learned how to play and teach many different instruments. I began with teaching middle school jazz sectionals, moved to high school marching band groups, and now teach masterclasses as well as private lessons. I have had the opportunity of teaching elementary aged students with Baton Rouge, LA's Kids' Orchestra program, and have taught college aged students through teaching assistantships and private lessons.
