Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. After an initial assessment of knowledge and skill, I began tailoring lessons for each student individually depending on their skill level. My lessons are not built for me to tell the student what to do, but rather learn how they learn and research the best practices for reaching that student.
