As students become more capable, we move into method books and repertoire written specifically for their instrument. Lessons include a combination of mastering the physical challenges of the instrument and developing musicality. Music to be studied is chosen based on the needs of the student. I have been playing/singing since 1980. My main instrument is Trombone but I have played Euphonium, Tuba, Trumpet, and Choir. I have been assisting Marching bands with the low brass section for the last 5 years. I have Taught privately for the last 10 years. I have performed in Community bands, orchestras,Jazz bands, Rock bands, Marching bands and Theater bands. I also take part in a holiday group that plays christmas carols for nursing home residents. For all ages and all instruments, you will be working on scales, chord progressions, transposition and reading of music for piano; scales, lip slurs, technical etudes, long tones, transposition and reading of music for trumpet; and scales, slurs, technical studies, transposition and reading of music for flute. For all instruments, there will be one key book that will cover everything you need to know.
