I began teaching privately in high school when a family friend had asked me to teach their beginner son music and trumpet. Since then, I have had the opportunity to teach all sorts of people ranging from as young as 6 years old, to 64 years old. Something I prioritize in my teaching is the development of efficient problem-solving skills. I have been teaching trumpet since 2008 where I have been giving private, in home instruction. All of my students take part in the NYSSMA festival and annually score at the top of their class. Some students have made it into the SCMEA, NYSCAME, and All-State Festivals. I am a trained classical trumpeter and I am proficient on the Bb, C, Eb, A piccolo, G Bugle, and Flugelhorn trumpets. I create an environment where the student can feel as if they can ask any question and can make mistakes without being looked down on.  I encourage the student to problem solve their own issues through critical thinking. My goal is to teach you so you don't need to be taught anymore. We will work on a given concept continuously until it is understood and able to be produced.
