Every student requires a uniquely tailored teaching style, but also they possess a unique set of strengths and "weaknesses" that will be addressed. I do not believe in the "cookie-cutter" approach to teaching. I believe that fundamentals (scales, tuning exercises, lip slurs, technical excecises) are important as these are the key to unlocking the instrument as a means of self-expression, by eliminitating the infamilarity and oddness of the trombone. That being said, I believe that technique should be approached in the most musical way possible, and I strive to teach technique through actual music.  My teachers, as were most successful brass players, were influenced by the legendary tubist of the Chicago Symphony, Arnold Jacobs. I have played first trumpet with the American Legion Symphonic Band for 10 yrs., the Symphonic Band of the Palm Beaches and South Florida Pride Wind Ensemble, plus playing lead trumpet in several big bands in South Florida. I am from Brazil and in 2014 I graduated from Sao Paulo University with a bachelor in music education. In addition, I studied trumpet at Sao Paulo Municipal Conservatory from 2015 to the end of 2017. Recently, I got approved as a graduate student in performance at Florida Atlantic University. I was trumpet lead in the symphonic band of the Sao Paulo Municipal Conservatory, and I did participations in various musical groups like Young Symphonic Band From Sao Paulo State, Guarulhos Young Orchestra, Orchestra USP Philharmonic, and also I was trumpet player in a female HipHop band form 2014 to 2017. In the first lessons, I explain the the beginner students the basic functionality of the instruments, the proper way to hold the instruments, how to produce a clear sound from the instruments and a Major scale ascending and descending, the one from which the first lessons or the next lessons is written.
