My teaching experience dates back after my college years during the years of home private studying most musical instruments as I began teaching various instruments to group students at the christian churches. When some of my advanced students started to request private lessons, I founded College Music Lessons. I never have students who just can not understand their instruments. They took the first lessons; they ready for the next ones. Read More

Every student requires a uniquely tailored teaching style, but also they possess a unique set of strengths and "weaknesses" that will be addressed. I do not believe in the "cookie-cutter" approach to teaching. I believe that fundamentals (scales, tuning exercises, lip slurs, technical excecises) are important as these are the key to unlocking the instrument as a means of self-expression, by eliminitating the infamilarity and oddness of the trombone. That being said, I believe that technique should be approached in the most musical way possible, and I strive to teach technique through actual music.  My teachers, as were most successful brass players, were influenced by the legendary tubist of the Chicago Symphony, Arnold Jacobs. I break down the overall goal to a small step that is doable for the student. I am nice and patient with students, meanwhile, I insist on they accomplishing my instruction. It is fine if it takes several tries, but most importantly is that they had to try. Practicing is a way to learn from the mistake and how to avoid it. Practicing also teaches us how to be patient and doing it efficiently leading to success. Read More

For beginners I normally use Talking Trumpet as a primary flow exercises book and Edwards-Hovey Method for Cornet or Trumpet to start the practice in articulations and fingerings in a comfortable pitch. In according with the improvement I add or change practice books. To intermediary level I certainly will apply Arban`s Complete Conservatory Method for Trumpet and some alternatives to flow exercises and technical studies. In a appropriated moment, and if it was a student desire, I start to introduce solo repertoire. Read More

I am a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. I am been studying music since the age of five and have had the privilege to travel throughout the country as a professional musician. In 2014, I graduated from Florida Memorial University with a Bachelor of Music Education. Initially I attended Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University "FAMU" for my freshman and sophomore years of college where I became a member of Kappa Kappa Psi and had the privilege to perform with the marching 100. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson, working on every aspect of music: Technique, Music Theory, Repertoire, sight reading skills in a fun a didactic way. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. Read More

I try to stress the importance of daily practice. I encourage my students to enjoy making music, and never to be discouraged. Intermediate and advanced level students are taught at the correct individual level. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
